About Me
I’m 30 years old, live in Edinburgh and until recently worked for Bank of Scotland Corporate IT.
I
grew up on the Isle of Skye and have always been interested in my fitness through
my involvement in my main sport, Shinty. (A far cry from running Ultra Marathons!).
Team sport is one thing but I’ve always been keen to find out how I could cope in an individual challenge. I’d wanted to find out how far I could go to push myself to my limits of physical and mental endurance.. The Marathon des Sables was a fantastic opportunity to find these points and I hoped that the worlds toughest footrace would push me.
I went through a very tough training regime and I couldn’t wait to get to the starting line and see what I could accomplish.
My aim was simply to do my best, to give my all, to walk away satisfied that I could have done no more.
Of course an event like this is tailor made for charity appeals and I intended to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie Cancer Care. See the box on the right for how much I raised.
