Ben Simmister grew up on the Isle of Skye. He has always been interested in fitness through his involvement in Shinty

Wanting to push himself to the limits of physical and mental endurance, Ben took part in the 2007 Marathon des Sables, the toughest footrace on Earth. Find out all about Ben’s experiences here.

Before embarking on another challenge, Ben is, for the second time, taking a year  a year out to go traveling with his partner Nicola.

Their journey will take them to Italy, Greece, Turkey and India. Then its off to France where they will  work as ski instructiors for a few months.
